Description |
Metal(Iron and Brass). Neoclassical-style andiron features iron column with several ball turnings and arched feet at the bottom. Upper brass section includes decorative turnings with larger ball and flame finials. The top section slides over a tapered iron tang extended from the columns. The back log extensions and feet are extruded, or were "pulled" while the red-hot iron was worked by a blacksmith. Mate to Andiron(PWF1997.008.02). |
