Glass. Photographic ambrotype of Thomas Wentz. Ambrotype set into wood and paper hinged case with metallic oval framing and velvet padding inside lid. Attached typed label reads "THOMAS WENTZ (/) b. 7-15-1820 (/) d. 6-4-1912." Case includes small brass locking clasp. Thomas Wentz was the great-grandson of Peter Wentz.

Metal(Brass). Cast. Andirons include extensive decorative raised rings with domed top. Chippendale-style legs mounted on ball feet. Wrought-iron log bars include back legs. Matching pair.

Andiron - PWF1997.008.001
Metal(Iron and Brass). Neoclassical-style andiron features iron column with several ball turnings and arched feet at the bottom. Upper brass section includes decorative turnings with larger ball and flame finials. The top section slides over a tapered iron tang extended from the columns. The back log extensions and feet are extruded, or were "pulled" while the red-hot iron was worked by a blacksmith. Mate to Andiron(PWF1997.008.02).

Upper brass section shows decorative turnings with ball and flame finial. This top section slides over an iron tang extended from the column. Andiron is mate to previous andiron(PWF1997.008.01) but flame finial has slight different design.

Metal(Iron). Wrought. Latch bar from 1758 Wentz house door. Bar tapers from wider end to rounded finial for mounting nail. Square end would drop into door frame keeper to shut door. Includes original wrought nail with rosehead. Yellow paint matches current house colors as of 2022.

Metal(Iron). Wrought. Trade ax head. Head features a flaring body with curved chopping blade. Round eye. Possible demarcation line on right side suggests that a steel tip was welded to the iron body. Pocked appearance of the tip metal supports this by suggesting blister steel. Ax head possibly coated in museum wax or other non-corrosive coating at one point. Ax Head only. Inactive corroded condition.

Metal(Lead). Excavated. .66/100 caliber musket ball. Cast in a bullet mould, the two halves of this musket ball are not a perfect match. Evidence of the sprue, where the ball was cut from the mould, is still seen. French .66 caliber musket ball found locally in Worcester Township. Redware. Bulbous-shaped child's coin bank which turns inward near the top and then flares outward to pointed finial. Bank decorated with a coggled line one inch below finial. Flared coin slot cut vertically through coggle decoration toward top. Redware body is unglazed.

Stone. Possibly slate. Bannerstone includes striations on the surface of the stone, parallel striations inside the part that would have been drilled out.
